Norwest names Lindner operating partner

Jim Lindner has joined Norwest Equity Partners as an operating partner to focus on the technology and business services sectors. He is the current chairman and former CEO of NEP portfolio company Mitchell International, a San Diego-based provider of information services, software and e-business solutions for the automotive and workers’ compensation insurance claims processing industry.

Rockley heads to Emerald

Whitney Rockley

has joined Emerald Technology Ventures as a general partner. She previously was a partner with Nomura New Energy & Clean Technology Ventures. Emerald also announced that it has promoted Charles Vaslet to partner.

Carlyle adds Summe

Gregory Summe has joined The Carlyle Group as vice chairman of the firm’s global buyouts practice. He previously was a senior advisor to Goldman Sachs Capital Partners and, before that, spent 11 years as chairman and CEO of PerkinElmer.

KKR gets Stern

Lee Stern has joined Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. as director of the firm’s asset management unit, where he will be responsible for originating and structuring mezzanine investments. He previously was a managing director with GSO Capital Partners.

Boeing taps Ward as CIO

Boeing (NYSE: BA) has named Andrew Ward as chief investment officer of its $65 billion pension system. He previously was managing director of investment strategy and asset allocation. Former Boeing CIO Mark Schmid left in June to become CIO of the University of Chicago.

Jung joins Oak Hill

Alexandra Jung has joined Oak Hill Advisors as co-head of the firm’s European business. She previously was a managing director with Greywolf Capital Management.

Chrysalis boosts staff

Chrysalis Ventures has promoted three investment professionals. John Willmoth was named venture partner; Matt Winn was named senior associate; and Elizabeth Rounsavall was promoted to director of research and analytics.

Andreessen now on HP board

Mark Andreessen

, a partner with VC firm Andreessen Horowitz, has joined the board of Hewlett-Packard Co.

Broadpoint Gleacher adds Castelluccio

Frank Castelluccio has joined Broadpoint Gleacher Securities Group as an executive managing director and head of operations. He previously spent eight years as a managing director in the fixed income unit of Jefferies & Co.

Tsang joins Citigroup

Rodney Tsang

has joined Citigroup as co-head of its China investment banking group. He previously was head of China private sector coverage for BoA Merrill Lynch.

Horowitz joins IFC

Ruth Horowitz

has joined IFC Asset Management Co. as chief administrative officer. She previously was a managing director and chief administrative officer of Lehman Brothers’ private equity business.

RFE hires Rubel

Michael Rubel

has joined RFE Investment Partners as a principal. He had spent the past six years as a principal with Weston Presidio.
