Deal of the Year: Vista Equity hyperdrives growth at Marketo

Vista Equity won Buyouts' 2019 Deal of the Year award for its turnaround of marketing-automation software vendor Marketo. The sale of the company to Adobe in 2018 returned about $2.5 billion in net cash to Vista, the biggest profit realized by a portfolio company in Vista’s history.
